Non-JJC Event Scholarships
The JJC has been awarded a two year Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) which includes providing full or partial scholarships for people who work in juvenile justice to attend local training courses. These scholarships are designed for non-JJC sponsored events. The JJC is committed to assisting individuals within agencies and community members who desire to attend JJC training opportunities but are unable to due to budget cuts and financial restraints.
Qualification criteria
- Your area of interest or work must relate to juvenile justice.
- Training course must be in the area of juvenile justice such as child development, corrections, education, youth intervention, law enforcement, human services, etc.
- Training courses must be approved by JJC to qualify.
- No multi-day or national conferences
- Only registration fees are eligible for scholarships - no transportation, hotel, meals, etc. will be covered
- One award per individual per organization will be eligible over the two year grant.
Selection procedure
- The scholarship application and supporting training materials must be received by JJC at least 30 days prior to the training registration deadline.
- At the beginning of each month of the grant period, scholarship requests will be reviewed by JJC staff. Notification will be given by the middle of the month. If you are not selected, you may re-apply every month.
- Scholarships will be paid to the individual or designee (i.e. your employer) after the training has occurred. Verification of your attendance will need to be sent within 30 days after the conclusion of the training for reimbursement.
- JJC has the right to deny any request, to fund a partial request, or to ask for additional information in order to make an informed decision.
